Landing Page for Leads

In searching for lead generation I found this blog post from a year ago. The blog title is Ten Tips for Lead Generation Landing Pages. I found this topic to be fascinating because there are some very important techniques and best practices to properly generate leads via landing pages.

The first tip that Jon refers to - First Impressions Matter. Essentially you have 7 seconds to get your point across. Add too much text and you have lost your reader. Make the page too dull or too busy and you have lost your reader. I am amazed at how many companies seeking effective lead generation initiatives mess up this simple process.

My points of advice.
1. Center your content. Eyes naturally gravitate to the top center.
2. Limit your text. People do not want to read a book on your campaign.
3. Streamline your graphics.

KISS your landing pages. Keep It Simple Stupid. Your results will grow greatly.

Lead Generation

Ok. It has been quite a long time since I have posted. I am busy. Excuse, certainly. A pitiful excuse at that. However I am a person that deals in competition and challenges. The gauntlet has been thrown down that I can not attract a top page on the search engines for the term . . .

I am going to be quite in verbal speech but loud online as I make this quest.

eCommerce

We had a meeting with a couple of clients and potential clients this week. The findings were not surprising.

Most business that we run into do not have a proper web identity. That may mean that there graphics are just not up to par and therefore the image of the company or organization suffers. While we are not graphic designers and artist we certainly refer to some very talented individuals and advertising groups. The web identity quite often means that there site is just not programmed correctly.

My suggestion to anyone who is looking to have any sort of meaningful web presence its to perform a little bit of due diligence when looking for a web developer or designer. If the developer can not give you specifics on how to increase your search engine rankings and to eliminate errors in code then keep looking.

We began this week with an e commerce site that is not performing at very well. The reason is that the code is dirty and it redirects the user multiple times. Sophisticated browsers, such as the new Firefox 3, send alerts on redirects and it really begins to annoy the user. You can guarantee that if a user is annoyed then the robots that crawl your site for the various search engines will back away and fail to fully index your site. In a nut shell, it is very important how well your website is developed in order for it to achieve any momentum in the various search engines.
